Know Yourself

I have embraced the inevitable. I have accepted it. I have a fluffy-bunny blog. I am incapable of prolonged periods of sarcasm and snideness. (Please note: I said "prolonged") Generally, people will read my blog and say or think something along the lines of "Awwwwww, what a sweet little blog"

Which is not inherently bad. Its just me. I will never be the impassioned laser-focused leader who inspires others to greatness, who moves through life with big-sweeping-theme-music wafting in their wake. Occassionally, very rarely, I can be the dangerously-cold individual who goes from normal-to-other-and-back-to-normal in the blink of an eye. But in the grand scheme of things, I'm generally a fluffy-bunny. Ok. I'm generally a fat-and-fluffy-bunny. With a pink bow around her neck.

Therefore, while reading my fluffy-bunny blog, some of you might be stunned (perhaps even shocked) to find out that one of my very most favorite Christmas charities is ...

Adopt-a-Sniper, which has been renamed American Snipers because they were trying to ditch the "cute" factor! Yet, it's the "cute" factor that got my attention. (Personally, I think it was a mistake to dump their cute factor, but I guess if you're trying to be all macho-n-professional it might not always work for you) Then the idea behind the organiztion really got my attention.

Apparently, snipers need special equipment. And military equipementers can't keep up with their special needs. BUT the snipers can use their own non-standard-issue stuff, if they can get it. And its NOT cheap. So some Swat guys, and some sniper guys got together and sent some friends some of their own stuff. Then, word got out. So they made an organization to collect and send the donations.

There are lots of snipers, all of whom seem to have the child-like quality of being grateful for whatever little thing you give them. And they have letters posted on their website from snipers that get the stuff. Thats why it reminds me of Christmas, because the letters mention that the snipers refer to the group sometimes as "Sniper Santa" which recaptures the CUTE FACTOR!!!

And, so, when I read their site, I once again think "Awwwww. How sweet!"

If this is true, Lucy, then I love fluffy bunnies and pink bows, too!

Hey, and for those of you that need really specific focused instructions, go over there and donate. THAT'S why I gave you links!

You can donate ANY amount online, or there's an address to mail them a check.

Personally, I'm always tempted to send them a check from my very-floral-checkbook and enclose it in a note on VERY floral stationary :)

I linked and commented in a post on I'm going to become a Sniper Santa today! Take a look at the Semper Fi Fund as well, if you're in a giving mood.

You do realise these people kill people don't you?

maybe necessary, but to call this a charitable donation when your money could be going to something that promote what's good in the world rather than what's going wrong - it just leaves a foul taste in the mouth.

All people deserve good life and or just small business loan would make it much better. Just because people's freedom is based on money.
