I (Heart) Fred Thompson

I need a bumper-sticker. Heck, I need a yard sign. The size of a billboard. Maybe I need a tattoo! Wait. No. THAT would involve needles. I really hate needles. BUT I love Fred Thompson!

I've loved him forever, almost in spite of myself. (I'm a Southerner transplanted to the Midwest, so I knew who he was before RedOctober). How can you not love someone who's outrageously smart and funny and charming and conservative!?! Or, to be more current and blunt, how can you not love someone who thunks MichaelMoore on the head really hard without even trying!?! I'm ALL for smacking Moore!

"So what?" you ask. Let me tell you "what" ...

I generally don't campaign. In any form. Sure, I vote. Its my responsibility to vote. But, I don't campaign. Although ... I did really want a little yard-sign for Bush..

Today, I'm going to walk around the block. Not a long way, but still. Its a start. And tomorrow I'm going to walk a little further around the block. I need to be in better shape to do some campaigning. I won't be the very most obvious campaigner, yet I've already got my eye on two or three fence-sitters. I just know I can pull them off the fence for Thompson! I've got skills and its time to use them!

I think it will give me an especial boost of pleasure knowing that one of the tools of MY trade will be wonderfully good cookies baked by a stay-at-home-mom. You know. Exactly the kind of cookies that Hillary mocked. Hmmmm! Guess I won't be using my subtle-cookie-skills for her!

A wonderful expression of your feelings Lucy...great post!
Welcome to the fold...

I must admit, I've been only marginally aware of Fred Thompson: may have something to do with the fact that I hardly ever turn on my TV, and only very seldom go to the movies. But I just loved his response to Michael Moore!

Up till the other day, I'd been leaning Giuliani, while holding my nose over Giuliani's views on social issues. But now my inclination is, if Fred Thompson is on the ballot, I'm going to vote for him.

Hey Lucy! I (heart) Fred Thompson too! I thought my mom was crazy when she suggested him, but after I read more about his platform, I was impressed. I'm supporting him too!

i think the united states would gain much needed credibility from fred thompson being president, i met the man in a restaraunt in wilmington, nc and considered myself lucky to have met such a powerful yet gentle and kind person.
