"My" Computer Is Ok

Blogging will be more frequent in the near future because I have a LOT of words to use up about the move, and because my husband set up "my" computer in my new cute little office which is near the kitchen. It is SO over-the-top-fabulous! And here is how that happened ...

Our new house had one of those small modern non-functional dining rooms. Seriously, I couldn't fit in the table AND the children at the same time. Plus, no pantry. By the time we looked at this particular house, I was fully in "we can fix anything that has grass and a bathtub" mode. Since this house has BOTH grass and a bathrub, I wandered around talking to myself. Which translates to "talking to my husband in a random string of thoughts that he may or may not be listening to".

One ot those thoughts was "lalalalalala .... maybe we could put a wall through the middle of this little useless room and punch out the wall at the end into the kitchen for a pantry or make the WHOLE thing a pantry or .... lalalalala".

We bought the house. My husband decided to put a wall in the middle of the "dining room". So now I have a truly amazing pantry! But he went further! He carved out a little 8x9 office at the end of the "dining room" that had the double-sized door-way opening into the living-room. It was also the end of the dining room with the window.

The window and the pendant-light were really out-of-scale in the "dining room", but they're PERFECT in the new space. Which is now lined with bookcases and a petite parsons desk that sticks out into the room! Our realestate agent (who turns out to live across the street) came by and was SHOCKED that it actually turned out really well. (She was too diplomatic to say that she thought we were probably crazy to try it) The contractor that put in the wall was less diplomatic, until he saw it with the bookcases and little cute desk.

And you know how I just ADORE a clear counter-top? My husband fitted the CPU into the bookcase next to the desk so its hidden from view AND my keyboard doesn't sit on my desk AND the monitor is thin and sits against the end of the desk that butts up to the wall AND it just happened to turn out the that monitor is the same color as the wall!!!!!

Sometimes wonderful things happen. *sigh* :)
